BGMI Showdown: SouL Miss Top Group By One Point

The reigning BGIS champions are starting week two of the BGMI Showdown qualifiers in Group B after missing the top group by a single point. Team SouL closed week one of Group A on 39 points, one behind GodLike, and that gap was enough to push them into the relegated half when the groups were reshuffled.

How Group A finished week one

Group A played out its six matches at the Savaaya Convention in Hyderabad, and the split between the two halves came down to pure points.

• Gladiator Esports topped the group on 58 points, with one chicken dinner and 34 finishes.
• Vasista Esports, who led after day one on 37, added 17 more to finish second on 54.
• 8Bit took third on 51.
• 7Gods were fourth on 49 and the only side in the group to win two of the six matches.
• Orangutan, the defending Showdown champions, climbed from ninth after day one to fifth on 45.
• Outrage and Reckoning finished sixth and seventh.
• GodLike scraped through in eighth on 40, the last safe spot.

GodLike's week was wild. The BMPS 2026 champions were sitting 12th on 14 points after day one before putting up 26 on Wednesday. Their 31 finishes did the heavy lifting, because they picked up only nine placement points across the six matches.

SouL and the other teams dropping down

SouL's 39 came from 27 finishes and 12 placement points. Joining them in the bottom half are Revenant XSpark on 36, Myth on 28 and Nebula on 27. Nebula had only won the BGMI Masters Series on 6 September, so two of this year's big trophy winners are dropping into Group B together. Apex Gaming ended 13th on 26, followed by Genesis on 23, Team Tamilas on 17 and Elite Nova on 15.

The format does not care about reputations. Every team in Group A played the same six matches, and the reshuffle went purely on points.

Why the drop hurts, but is not fatal

The qualifiers run for nine straight days from 22 to 30 September, split into three weeks of six matches per team. Groups are reshuffled after weeks one and two, then frozen, and where a team sits at the end of week three decides the next stage.

That is why Group A's standings matter so much:

• The top four at the end of the qualifiers go straight to the Grand Finals from 16 to 18 October.
• Fifth to 12th drop into the semi-finals.
• Even the bottom four only fall into Upper Bracket Survival.

So SouL's one-point miss costs them a spot in the top group for now, but there is still a long route back into the Grand Finals picture.
